What is your superpower?`
Curiosity. I love collecting seemingly random bits of information and asking questions when things pique my curiosity. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote, “Data! Data! Data! I cannot make bricks without clay.” Well, I thoroughly enjoy making bricks.
What makes you unique?
I have a fresh perspective that keeps me open to new ideas and prevents me from limiting myself. I’m naturally curious and eager to learn, and I’m not afraid to ask questions and challenge what I’m taught. My willingness to learn and ability to see things differently proves my humbleness and my value to my team.
What are your beliefs about the financial planning profession?
Ethics and transparency are non-negotiable. And, financial planning is not just about numbers; it’s about guiding toward making informed decisions that align with their life goals and values.
What’s the most fun part of your job?
The spreadsheets! Whether I’m looking for an answer or analyzing data, it’s fascinating to delve into financial intricacies.
What particular client personality or circumstance are you most drawn to?
I’m fascinated by business owners. In my support of our tax team, I run across business expense reports, trial balances, or other tallies. I like reading their business data story and seeing how it translates to their finances.
Tell a personal story that has helped motivate you to improve the financial situation of yourself and your clients or community.
It’s remarkable that every facet of our lives is profoundly influenced by our financial well-being.
I grew up with a single mother and grandparents without retirement plans. So I know now, financial planning is about being proactive, not reactive. A solid financial foundation not only instills confidence but also creates space for personal growth and the courage to take calculated risks.
