What is your financial superpower?

Explaining the complex and sometimes overwhelming world of financial planning in simple terms so anyone can understand. Understanding your plan means you’re more likely to be confident in it. For others who just want their advisor to take care of it all – well, I’m here for you!

What makes you unique as an advisor?

Cook Wealth makes me unique. We are redefining wealth management. We partner with clients. Not all financial planning firms are truly focused on getting it right- getting both the numbers right and meeting a person’s unique needs correctly. But we are focused on getting it all right.

What are your beliefs about your profession?

I think it’s the best! The partnership I get with clients and the team I work with make this the best job ever.

What’s the most fun part of your job?

I love helping people and find fulfillment in providing partnership and advice that anyone can benefit from. Also, every client is so unique– connecting with people in all phases of life is really fun.

Do you work with a special market or are you drawn to one?

Student loans is a real challenge. I like showing clients how to get out of debt while still investing.

Is there anything in your life personally that has helped motivate you to improve the financial situation of yourself and your clients?

My parents worked very hard but never made much money when I was growing up. Despite that, they had a great savings plan, so when my father passed away, the money he left my mother was enough that she never has to worry. She now makes close to minimum wage at a job she loves, working with children. She can work for fun and still pay her bills. Also, my father took care of the family finances. After helping my mom navigate her finances alone for the first time in her life, I realized how challenging it is. That’s why we encourage family alignment in financial planning – both spouses involved – and open communication with kids about their plans.
