Progress – ongoing opportunities to improve. Also, I like the balance of independent, quiet work and fun, collaborative projects with the team.

What makes you unique in your role / profession?

I work on a team that cares deeply about making a positive impact on others’ lives. With financial advice? Yes! How we spend our money is how we spend our life. Life is chaotic; we each need a guide.

What are your beliefs about financial planning?

Financial planning is nothing without tax strategy. Keeping more of what you earn is just as important as investing smart.

Is there anything in your life personally that has helped motivate you to improve your financial situation or someone else’s?

My dad owns a third-generation family business. He bought in to his grandfather’s local produce stand with a few neighborhood deliveries and expanded it into a multi-state distribution company. I’ve heard him take calls at 4am when a truck driver got in an accident; I’ve seen him nearly fall asleep in his breakfast after a night shift. He did this to pay the bills, sure – but also so he could be generous. Because of him, I ask: how can I best earn and save so that my family has what we need and we can give more to our neighbors and friends?
