What is your financial superpower?

Finding a way. Frequent tax law changes can be confusing, but they also open up opportunities for current and future savings. Adapting to almost daily tax law changes, I can find a creative way to get the client where they want to go.

What makes you unique as an advisor?

I love innovation and learning new things. My mind is always running through various tax scenarios and how new ideas could create better client outcomes. I care about the people I’m working with and what they’re pursuing, so that’s where my mind goes whether I’m “at work” or not.

What are your beliefs about your profession?

It’s rewarding. When hiring an accountant, you are sort of thrust into the obligation of trusting someone you may not know. You share personal finances and rely on us to pay attention and care. I joined Cook Wealth because we actually take the time to understand clients’ needs so we can be confident in advising them. There is nothing better than seeing a client succeed because of our advice and expertise.

What’s the most fun part of your job?

Providing custom solutions (every tax situation is different) and peace of mind (we all need that). If tax planning is a puzzle, I look for the missing piece that fits just right– that best-case scenario where tax savings are maximized– so the client’s goals all come together into one beautiful picture.

Do you work with a special market or are you drawn to one?

I enjoy the variety of working with people from all walks of life.

Is there anything in your life personally that has helped motivate you to improve the financial situation of yourself and your clients?

My plan to have a family. I like helping clients plan for kids. My wife and I hope to grow our family someday and I prepare as much as possible now, so I will be in a good position to provide all they need, and some of what they want!
